All-in-one mobile experience for everyday payments and purchases

Managing everyday payments often means juggling multiple apps, one for data, another for airtime, another for electricity, subscriptions, and even shopping.


The BillPayment app was designed to bring all of these actions into one simple, accessible mobile experience, allowing users to pay bills, buy data and airtime, manage subscriptions, fund a wallet, and shop gadgets, all from a single platform.

The Product Overview

BillPayment is a mobile app that enables users to:

  1. Buy internet data and airtime

  2. Pay utility bills (electricity, TV subscriptions, etc.)

  3. Save and manage subscriptions

  4. Fund and manage a wallet

  5. Shop gadgets through an in-app marketplace

The core focus of the design was clarity, speed, and ease of use for everyday financial actions.

Entry Point & First Impression

The experience begins with a clean splash screen, setting a simple, trustworthy tone before users move into the app.

From there, users are introduced to the platform’s value through clear feature access before proceeding to account creation.

Account Creation Flow

Users are guided through a straightforward sign-up process, designed to feel quick and non-intrusive.

Once onboarding is complete, users land directly on the main home screen, where all core actions are immediately accessible.

Home Screen Experience

The home screen acts as the central control hub of the app.

Here, users can:

  1. View their wallet balance

  2. Add funds to their wallet

Access quick actions for common tasks:

  1. Buy data

  2. Buy airtime

  3. Pay phone bills

  4. Pay for TV subscriptions

  5. Pay electricity bills

A promotional banner is also integrated into the layout, subtly directing users to the in-app gadget store without disrupting core payment actions.

Wallet & Funding

The wallet is designed to feel simple and flexible.

Users can add funds using:

  1. Card payment

  2. Bank transfer

This flow prioritises clarity and reassurance, making it easy for users to understand how funds move into their wallet before completing transactions.

In-App Gadget Store

Beyond bill payments, the app includes an e-commerce experience for purchasing gadgets.

This store is integrated directly into the app, allowing users to:

  1. Browse available products

  2. View product details

  3. Complete purchases without leaving the platform

Transaction History

All user activities are tracked and clearly displayed in a transaction history screen, giving users visibility into:

  1. Past payments

  2. Purchases

  3. Wallet activity

This reinforces transparency and trust within the app.

Design Focus

The design prioritised:

  1. Clear visual hierarchy

  2. Fast access to frequent actions

  3. Consistency across multiple payment flows

  4. A mobile-first experience optimised for everyday use
